Fields: Public Administration, American Public Policy (Applied Policy Analysis), and Urban Affairs.
Dr. Opp's areas of research primarily center on the intersection of economic needs with environmental and social protection. Current research focuses on the local control of hazardous waste remediation and brownfield redevelopment as well as the state administration of environmental policies. In addition, current projects include an analysis of hazardous waste facilities inspection and enforcement rates as it relates to race, land use patterns, and income in the state of Texas. Publications include, among others, an edited volume on international sustainable development, numerous technical reports and policy analyses on land use planning and brownfields redevelopment, and several book chapters ranging from city management to environmental policies at the state level./p>
